Cleaning Made Easy: 3 Products for the Cleaning-Averse
Who likes cleaning? Not this girl.
And wouldn’t you know that I married into a family that ALL love to clean? That figures right. Let’s just say there were many jokes made about my cleaning style or lack thereof. But it was all in love and not meanness.
Time for Spring cleaning
We decided to have Spring Cleaning Day. I know it’s not technically spring yet, but saying Winter Cleaning Day just doesn’t have the same effect.
As I said earlier, I don’t like cleaning, but that doesn’t mean I don’t do it. But today, we were doing a little more than usual. We cleaned the entire house from top to bottom. It was a family event. We divided and conquered it all. The kids were responsible for their rooms. My husband did all the windows, the dining room, and the den and vacuumed the bedroom. I did the rest that was on the list.

- O’Cedar Spin Mop
- Ionvac Robot Vacuum
- Plastic Cleaning Caddy
Let’s face it the less time you have to spend cleaning, the better, right? Using these products has helped cut down my cleaning time. All without breaking the bank. So it’s a win-win in my eyes.
1. O’Cedar Spin Mop
I bought this last year. For someone that hates mopping, let me tell you I buy a lot of mops. I’ve got the Shark Steam Mop, Norwex Mop, and Libman Mop. But I will say this spin mop is AMAZING. I don’t have to touch it! It comes with a bucket. So no more using my sink full of water. After you put the mop in the water, you place it in the little basket part and step on the pedal a few times, and it spins all the water out. That means no more wringing out your mop by hand. I do like to make sound effects when I spin the mop; it makes me laugh. The only negative I can see that people might not like is the mop head is small. That doesn’t bother me. I mopped my entire house with it with no problems. We have hardwood and tile floors throughout.
2. Ionvac Robot Vacuum
Way back in 2020. I know it wasn’t that far back, but man, doesn’t it kind of feel like it? I bought this robot vacuum. I had wanted one for a long time, and I got this one during a Black Friday sale. I wasn’t going to spend hundreds of dollars on one for my first one. I am still using this one over 2 years later. The great thing is it doesn’t have any trouble going from carpet to tile in our den/dining room. And, of course, being an 80’s kid, I named it Rosie. Now if I can figure out how to get it to do laundry. For those that don’t get the reference, Rosie was the maid robot from The Jetsons.
3. Plastic Cleaning Caddy
These little caddy’s make cleaning different rooms a lot easier. I put all my rags, sponges, and sprays in the different compartments. You can even put a roll of paper towels in one of the spots if you want to. I just carry it from room to room. This little caddy has so many uses besides carrying cleaning supplies. I saw where you could use them for snacks for movie night. How cute is that?
Keepin’ it real,
