Wishing A Huge Happy Anniversary To My True Love
Today June 5, 2022, we celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary. It’s been a wild ride. We have definitely had our ups and downs, but I would say mostly ups. We got pregnant 6 months after being married. We raised a kid in our early twenties when we had no clue what we were doing. Surprise twins in our thirties. All while we were broke, and finding our way in our careers.
Why did I decide to do a blog post instead of a Facebook post or a card? Because I want to shout to the world what Michael means to me and for him to always be able to go back easily and read it.
A love letter to my beloved husband
Dear Michael,
I do not give you nearly enough credit as I should. You are truly the rock in our family. You are level-headed, hard-working, the money saver, the bug killer, my safe place, and so much more. I want you to know that you have my utmost respect.
As I write this I can hear the water outside. And even though we just got back from vacation a few hours ago you are outside power washing the house. These are the little things that you do. Not for recognition but because it has to be done. You are setting a great example for our boys. Even though it seems they are never paying attention I promise you they are.
Thanks to your scrooge ways (haha), I mean your penny-pinching ways we have built a life we are proud of and love. If you would have told me 23 years ago this is where we would be now I would not have believed you. It did not seem possible at the time. But thanks to hard work and perseverance here we are.
Thank you for always going along with my crazy antics, and being my biggest supporter. You are my built-in best friend. We have seen it so many times that people our age don’t last this many years together. But we know what a great thing we have and how to work through the hard times. Giving up was never an option. I am so very thankful for that.
This list has grown by leaps and bounds since I made this for you a few years ago.
I think we nailed it when we picked this song for our wedding.
When I first saw you, I saw love
And the first time you touched me, I felt love
And after all this time
You’re still the one I love, mmm, yeah-yeah
Looks like we made it
Look how far we’ve come, my baby
We mighta took the long way
We knew we’d get there someday
They said, “I bet they’ll never make it”
But just look at us holding on
We’re still together, still going strong, mm
You’re still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You’re still the one I want for life
(You’re still the one)
You’re still the one that I love
The only one I dream of
You’re still the one I kiss goodnight
Ain’t nothin’ better
We beat the odds together
I’m glad we didn’t listen
Look at what we would be missin’
You’re Still the One by Shania Twain
I hope you feel the same about our marriage as I do. And always remember that I
Love Always,
Magan

Happy Late Anniversary sis.
I’m so proud of you. I love the honesty in your words and I felt like I was on that journey with y’all.
Thank you for letting the world see couples can make it if they choose each other and work together.
Keep blogging your journey has helped me in so many ways and I know you will inspire so many.
Thank you so much for your encouragement. It means more to me than you will even know.
Good post. I learn something totally new and challenging on websites I stumbleupon every day. Its always helpful to read articles from other authors and practice something from other sites.
